I started making soap in 2023 after years of sensitive skin and commercial products that made it worse. That first batch changed everything, so by the end of the year I opened the Etsy shop. Every product I sell is something I formulated, tested, and use myself.

One of my household has chromhidrosis - and even when this person doesn't sweat profusely at night as sometimes happens, their body oil and perspiration stain all the bedding yellow, anyway. And, even after they had been washed in normal detergents, and came out smelling fresh, a week or two in the linen closet and they'd have this odor reminiscent of rancid cooking oil. Modern bedsheet fabrics don't tolerate a hot water wash, and chlorine bleach actually made the staining worse. Deep research identified the issue(s). The odor is being caused by a biofilm that feeds on body oils and proteins. And whatever detergent I was using wasn't breaking those down, and I'd tried several. I'm now using one that does have some enzyme action, but I needed two more to have the full complement of what is found in human sweat and body oil and your Laundry Booster has both. Now, I soak in borax and Sea Spray Laundry Booster for 1 to 2 hours. Then I'll run them in the regular wash. And it's working! I'll be a regular customer for this product!

I have atopic dermatitis. No matter what product I use that is designed for sensitive skin, it can start to cause problems because I am allergic to coconut and almost all sensitive skin cleansers have coconut-derived ingredients. So while I cannot use any soap on a daily basis on my entire body, this is very helpful to me. It is so hard to find coconut-free ingredients.

Q: What does "small-batch handmade" actually mean for quality?

It means every bar is made by hand in batches small enough to monitor individually - not poured by machine and moved down a conveyor. Small-batch production lets us catch issues, adjust formulations, and use ingredients we'd skip if we were manufacturing at scale.

Q: Do your cleaning products work as well as conventional brands?

Yes - and we'd rather prove it than just say it. Our dish soap, laundry soap, and toilet bombs are formulated to perform, not just to look clean on an ingredient label. The difference is what they don't contain: synthetic fragrance, chlorine bleach, phosphates, and plastic packaging.

Q: What is your packaging made from? Is it truly plastic-free?

We use paper, glass, and compostable materials across our product line. Our goal is zero virgin plastic, we'll always tell you exactly what something is packaged in on the product page.
