What Makes Coconut Oil Soap Good for Cleaning
Coconut oil makes an effective cleaning soap. It's high in lauric acid, which cuts through grease. It rinses clean, and when concentrated it's a versatile base for many cleaning jobs.
This is pure coconut oil liquid soap: saponified coconut oil and water. What you add to it is up to you.

5 Everyday Recipes
These are the five recipes you'll use most often. They cover the basics of keeping your home clean.
1. All-Purpose Cleaner
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil soap
- 2 cups warm water
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 10 drops essential oil (optional)
Mix in a spray bottle. Shake before use. Works on counters, appliances and most surfaces. Avoid marble and granite.
2. Laundry Detergent
- 1/4 cup coconut oil soap
- 1/4 cup washing soda
- 1/4 cup borax (optional)
- 10 drops essential oil (optional)
Mix ingredients together. Use 1 to 2 tablespoons per load. Works in HE and standard machines. Store in an airtight container.
3. Dish Soap
- 1/4 cup coconut oil soap
- 1 3/4 cups water
- 1 tablespoon washing soda
- 10 drops lemon essential oil (optional)
Mix gently to avoid excess foam. Use like regular dish soap. Cuts grease well.
4. Floor Cleaner
- 3 tablespoons coconut oil soap
- 1 gallon warm water
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
Good for tile, linoleum and sealed wood. No rinsing needed.
5. Bathroom Spray
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil soap
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 10 drops tea tree oil (optional)
Tackles soap scum and hard water deposits. Rinse well on glass to avoid streaking.

Pure coconut oil soap (100% coconut) is made for cleaning surfaces: dishes, counters, floors and laundry. The high coconut oil content that cuts grease so well makes it too cleansing and drying for skin and body care.
This is cleaning soap, not body soap.
